PRESENT: Troy Campbell, Mike Jorgensen, Doug Nowell, Mayor Campbell, Marty Anderson, Peggy Smith, Julie March, Hank Marsh, Steve Healey, David & Cheryl Bytheway, Zach Kearney, Tyler Timmons, Jeff Scott
ABSENT:
PRAYER:Mayor Jared Campbell
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
MINUTES: Marty motioned to accept minutes as read, Troy 2nd the motion.
MAYOR UPDATES: Six County gave a lot of good information at their meeting.
WATER: Mike Naiser is working with A&D Jensen to get on their schedule to get Needle Springs fixed. The snow is all melted so they are able to get to it. Steve said the Christensen's have not been able to get water to their cabin yet, but he was going to go help them.
Mike contacted USDA who we received our grant money to fix Needle Springs. She said it was favorable to use the extra money to update Cold Springs. She would just have to change the paperwork. She also said depending on what money we had left, it may be possible to use that money towards new water meters & readers. Marty made a motion to continue working with Hydro Specialties Company and Keith James for the new meters. Doug seconded the motion.
Jeff Scott, who lives at 1405 N Sevier Hwy, requested that the council allow him to only pay for one meter line instead of two. A past resident had two homes using one water meter at the time, so the town charged them for two lines. The current residents don't use both houses, and wondered if they could only pay for one meter. The mayor had concerns that one other customer is being charged for two water meters on one meter and wanted to be fair to both. Mike made a motion to charge for only 1 meter, and then after 6 months reevaluate the situation. Marty 2nd the motion. The change will take effect immediately.
Mike Jorgensen would like a water meter for his shop at 83 N 100 W. The line sits on the opposite side of the road, so he will be responsible for any costs accrued to get it under the road. Troy made a motion to accept his request. Marty 2nd the motion.
PLANNING COMMISSION:
David and Cheryl Bytheway would like to put up a horse shelter in their backyard. The PC approved it. All were in favor. The mayor signed it.
MISCELLANEOUS: The food is all bought. Delmar Waters donated 25 lbs of beef. There have been many other donations for our raffle. There will be a parade again this year. The council asked that the sheriff's office be notified so they can patrol the roads. The mayor will contact the Monroe fire department to help with the fireworks.
Tyler Timmons from Six Counties wanted to come and introduce the Community Advisors. For the longest time there were two people covering 49 communities in the six counties. They recently received funding to hire two more people to help. Tyler would like to set up a needs assessment meeting with the Council and the PC to go over what the needs of the Town are and see how he can help the town look at ways to generate revenue. A meeting was set up for June 15th @ 6:00 pm
Steve Alvey would like the old lawn mower. The town was unable to find a part to fix the spindle. It still runs well, it just doesn't turn to the right. The correct way to get rid of it is to auction it off. Mike made a motion to put it on the auction surplus to auction it off. Marty 2nd it.
Marty motioned to close the meeting, Troy 2nd the motion. All were in favor.
