3- TRAILER ORDINANCE DISCUSSION-
Cerese Voyles came before the City Council to discuss a permit to allow her brother to live in a tailer next to her home. The City Council explained that the current ordinance does not allow for individuals to live in a trailer next to a home for more than two weeks. Ms. Voyles wanted an exception because of the mental health problems that her brother has and how it has worked out best for them to have him be able to leave her home and have his space. The City Council was sympathetic to Ms. Voyles but stated that if they were to allow Ms. Voyles to break the ordinance, they would have to allow everyone to do the same. That would make the ordinance worthless.
4- PICKLE BALL COURT AT THE CITY PARK-
City Council Member Kelly Mason stated that he had received several requests for pickle ball courts at the Aurora City Park. Mr. Mason discussed how a court could be set up with the current basketball court already in place. Mr. Mason stated that he would get with Riley Tidlund, NS Recreation Director and see what could be done.
5- TRANSIENT ROOM TAX (SECOND READING)-
The Aurora City Council approved the second reading of the transient room tax ordinance. The ordinance will need one more reading before it is final.
6- SIX COUNTY MEETING-
The Aurora City Council and Planning Commission members are invited to attend a training meeting at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. All of the City Council members stated that they would be willing to attend.

$5,265.00 more funding annually.
8- BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS-
Mr. Johnson informed the Council that next month there would be budget changes and refinements for this year's budget and then the Council would need to approve a budget for the next fiscal year. June's City Council meeting will be where the final changes will be made.
9- DRAINAGE ALONG 200 SOUTH 500 WEST-
Mayor Quarnberg showed the Council on google earth a problem with drainage water along 500 West and 200 South. The Council discussed different ways in which the problem could be solved. Putting in a culvert on 500 W 200 S would allow the water to run down to the canal at 400 W. Keeping the water out of the yards of those who live along 200 S was seen as a potential problem. The Mayor asked to keep the issue on the agenda for next month.
10- CULINARY WATER PROJECT REVIEW-
Mr. Vercimak informed the Council that it would take approximately $37,200.00 to redo the roof with a hard plastic liner on the old water tank. Currently there would be enough money in the culinary water project to complete the project now that most everything has been completed. There would be some engineering costs for the redo.
11- DEPARTMENT REVIEWS-
Jim Harrison- Mr. Harrison informed the Council that the vacuum at the Scout Cabin needed to be replaced. Tresha King will find a vacuum that she thinks would work well and purchase it with the City reimbursing her for the purchase.
Kelly Mason- Mr. Mason informed the Council that NS Recreation was struggling to find people to work as umpires for the baseball season.
Nancy Kennedy- Ms. Kennedy stated that the Planning Commission would be attending the Six County Association of Governments meeting for their May meeting.

12- REVIEW OF WATER USE REPORTS, BUDGET, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, REVIEW OF THE CHECK REGISTER AND SAVINGS ACCOUNTS
The City Council reviewed all of the reports.
13- ITEMS FROM THE MAYOR
Mayor Quarnberg stated that he would like to discuss the cost for having an inactive meter. The monthly cost for those who leave the City for the winter is $20.00 but some of the meters have been charged the full $48.30. The Mayor stated that he would like to make this the same for all people involved. A special case issue had come up with Jared Johnson and the meter he uses to water livestock during the winter months. Currently Mr. Johnson basically turns the water on and off himself and is charged when a water usage shows up when meters are being read. The Mayor asked the Council for input as to how much to charge for a meter when it is not is use.
City Council Member Kelly Mason made the motion to charge residents $20.00 per month when a meter is not being used. Council Member Jim Harrison seconded the motion. The motion failed when Mr. Mason and Mr. Harrison voted aye but Mr. Jensen and Ms. Kennedy voted nay. Mayor Quarnberg decided not to break the tie and take the matter under advisement.
14- VISIT FROM COMMISSIONER SCOTT JOHNSON-
Commissioner Scott Johnson arrived at the meeting to discuss a couple of items with the Council. Mr. Johnson discussed the upcoming balloon festival, he was also asked about 'magging' the dirt road up to the West Park. Mr. Johnson also discussed the status of the bike path from Salina to Aurora.
