Woodruff Town Board Meeting
May 16, 2023
Minutes from the Woodruff Town Board meeting held May 16, 2023 at the Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.
Those present:
Mayor Scott Sabey
Council Members: Seiko Webb, Monika Schulthess, Raymond Frandsen, Braydon Deru
Clerk: Allie Deru
Short term rentals were discussed. We are going to look into adopting Randolph's ordinance but may need to include some new state rules. We will look more into that and figure out what the new rules are. We will hopefully approve that at our next board meeting.
The theme for the Woodruff Homecoming Celebration parade will be 'The Wonderful World of Woodruff'. Mayor Sabey contacted Bill Hopkin to see if he would want to be an honoree for the celebration this year, but he declined. The board will need to look at some other people who may be willing to be honorees this year.
Monika Schulthess made the motion to approve the May bills. Raymond Frandsen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Monika Schulthess made the motion to approve April minutes. Raymond Frandsen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Chris Schulthess is in charge of the pump at the fire shed. It is available for anyone to use. We will make sure to let people know it is there in case they need it with the rising water.
Monika Schulthess has been working on the town website and it is almost ready to go. We have purchased what we need for the website and Monika and Allie will do the training that is required for that.
We are going to be purchasing new signs for the town. Braydon's brother Alec is going to be making those for us. Braydon is going to get a quote and it was also discussed that we should pay Alec for the labor that he is going to put in for designing and making the signs. There will be three of them, one for each entrance into town.
The board discussed the trees in front of Jared Huffaker's house. They are getting big, out of control and are tearing up the town sidewalk that goes in front of his house. Mayor Sabey is going to look more into that and see what we can do to help that situation.
The board is going to make a list for Paul Webb each month of things that he needs to do in the upcoming month so that there is open communication of what is expected from him.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
