SYRACUSE CITY Syracuse City Disaster Preparedness Committee May 25, 2023 - 6:30 p.m. Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S. Notice is hereby given that the Syracuse City Disaster Preparedness Committee will participate in a meeting on Thursday May 25, 2023, at 6:30 pm in the large conference room of the Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S., Syracuse City, Davis County, Utah. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss/review the following items: Welcome: Patrick Carroll Call to Order: Patrick Carroll Prayer: TBA Pledge of Allegiance Review Meeting Minutes: Dennis Opp Welcome Guests/Visitors: Syracuse Connection Magazine articles: 1. Article for July issue to be written by Micah Redmond to be reviewed in April Meeting - Topic: Fireworks Safety 2. Article for August issue written by Mr. Redmond and forwarded to Mr. Jordan Savage to be reviewed in May Meeting - Topic: Comms Down 3. Article for September issue written by Mr. Duane Cheney to be reviewed in June Meeting - Topic: Canned Goods Expiration 4. Article for October issue TBA Committee Business: 1. Welcome Mr. Scott Bohn. He is the replacement for Mr. Duane Cheney. 2. West District replacement approval - Mr. Dennis Opp 3. New rep for Fremont District? 4. Discuss changing DPC meeting time to 7:00pm 5. Report on RDAP Class - 3rd Sat of each month at 10am 6. EOC update - 8/2023? 7. Teaching CERT class at Syracuse High - Mr. Jordan Savage report 8. Mr. Redmond frequency plan/ radio playbook update 9. Status of committee members Calling Tree Action Item Update: 1. Emergency Preparedness Fair on 'odd' years - planning for September 2025. More hands on fair. 2. Mr. Merkling proposed that for the 2024 Emergency Preparedness exercise that we pattern off of the Buffalo Ridge RDAP exercise. Steven LaForte, from Buffalo Ridge will write up the exercise and Mr. Merkling will get a copy for us to review in the next DPC meeting. 3. Mr. Duane Cheney will be resigning from his position on the DPC as soon as his replacement is found and trained (he expects to remain for three months or so).
