TOOELE CITY 2023 NOTICE OF ELECTION The 2023 Tooele City Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, to elect three (3) City Council members, all four-year terms. Persons interested in becoming a candidate for office must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the City Recorder, 90 North Main Street, Tooele, Utah. The filing period is June 1 through June 7, 2023. The City Recorder's office will be open Thursday, June 1, 2023 through Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding weekends. The doors will close promptly at 5:00 pm on June 7. Please do not wait until the last minute to file. There is a $30.00 filing fee for City Council positions. Qualifications to run for office are: (1)Be a United States citizen; (2)Be a registered voter of Tooele City; (3)Be a resident of Tooele City for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election; and (4)Not be a convicted felon unless the right to hold elective office has been restored. The primary election, if needed, will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023. The general election will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
