Notice of Municipal Election
General Election: November 21, 2023
The following positions are to be voted upon in the town of Alta 2023 Municipal Election.
- Council Seat At-Large, four-year term
- Council Seat At-Large, four-year term
Dates for filing a Declaration of Candidacy:
Thursday June 1, 2023 through Wednesday June 7, 2023
A Declaration of Candidacy form must be filed in person with the Town Clerk at the Alta Town Office Building, 10201 East Hwy 210, Alta UT.
Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00 pm.
A person filing a declaration of candidacy for a town office shall meet the requirements of
Utah Code Annotated section 20A-9-03.
Write-In Candidate:
To become a valid write-in candidate for the election, a person must file a 'Write-In Declaration of Candidacy' form in person with the Town Clerk by September 5, 2023. The candidate must also qualify for all the requirements of the office.
Primary Election:
If the number of candidates for a particular municipal office does not exceed twice the number of persons needed to fill that office, then a primary election for that office will NOT be held and the candidates are considered nominated.
Voter Registration
The requirements to become a registered voter are:
- Citizen of the United States;
- Resident of Utah for at least 30 days immediately before the election;
- At least 18 years old on the day of the election;
- At least 17 years old for some Primary Elections if you will be 18 prior to the associated General Election;
- Reside in the voting district or precinct in which the person applies to register to vote.

Notice of Special Accommodations (ADA)
NOTICE OF SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION DURING PUBLIC MEETINGS
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) during this meeting should notify Piper Lever at 801-363-5105. The Town of Alta will provide an interpreter for the hearing impaired upon seven (7) days notice.
Notice of Electronic or Telephone Participation
The Town of Alta has a policy that Alta Town Council members may participate in an Alta Town Council meeting by electronic means.
