Monthly Subcommittee Check-in Reports
1. Conduct subcommittee monthly check-in reports from subcommittee heads:
Preservation (Chris Schow) Old Town Hall update.
Can we calendar a start date for the cemetery condition survey project? (Jeanne)
Archives (Jeanne) Next inventory session TBD.
History & Publications (Laurel Cunningham) - Historic homeowners' newsletter-Went out on March 27. Next issue mails in June.
- Stories of PG history for library-Writing children's stories for the library's 'All Together Now' summer program.
- Publications in process-All are 95% complete, and publication dates are: 'By These Hands' biography book (Heritage Festival), Volume I (when current inventory is depleted, likely after HF), Manila Church booklet (December, to coincide with Stone Gate's anniversary event)
Community Outreach (Denise Trickler) Discuss the Historic Home Walking Tour slated for Monday, May 15. Talk about the June Historic Home Walking Tour.
Other Business Items
1. What Heritage Festival plans need to be started now? (Stacy Martineau will start joining our meetings in May.)
Plan A: The Old Town Hall is finished (our 'table' is in the building) Plan B: The building is not completed (we set up a table in Rose Garden Park)
- Conduct walking tours of Rose Garden Park (using our booklet).
- Displays in the OTH about the founding of PG
- Continually running video in the building about its history and restoration.
- Art show, with preference given to artists that depict PG in some way
- Bi-hourly bus tour - Conduct walking tours of Rose Garden Park (using our booklet).
- Sell books as usual
- Bi-hourly bus tour
2. FYI dates to calendar:
- Tuesday, April 25: Pleasant Grove City Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, 7 PM
- Monday, May 15: Historic Home Walking Tour, 7 PM. Meet at BJ's Short Stop (100 West Center)
- Friday, June 9: SHPO Conference in South Salt Lake, 8 AM to 5 PM
- Monday, September 11: Heritage Festival
