CITY OF FARMINGTON
MUNICIPAL ELECTION NOTICE
In accordance with UCA 10-3-301, notice is hereby given that the 2023 Municipal Election for Farmington City will be held on November 7, 2023 to elect the following officers:
- Three (3) City Council positions (4-year term)
The candidate filing period will be between Thursday, June 1 and Wednesday, June 7, 2023, excluding weekends and holidays. A Declaration of Candidacy must be filed in person from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the City Recorder's office, 160 South Main, Farmington, Utah.
Pursuant to UCA 20A-9-203, qualifications for a municipal candidate are as follows:
1. Be a United States citizen.
2. Be a registered voter in Farmington City.
3. Be at least 18 years old.
4. Be a resident of Farmington City for the 12 consecutive months immediately before the election.
5. In accordance with Utah Constitution, Article IV, Section 6, a mentally incompetent individual, an individual convicted of a felony, or an individual convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored.
Each elected officer of a municipality must maintain a principal place of residency within the municipality, and within the district that the elected officer represents, during their term of office.
A primary election shall be held, if necessary, on August 15, 2023.
