The City of Green River Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, on or after 7:00 p.m. Located at Green River City Hall, 460 East Main, Green River, Utah 84525. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment on the following:
1. Zoning change of, parcel 01-0150-0011, Open Space-1 to Commercial-2
2. Add 'Electric vehicle charging stations and related facilities' as a permitted use in the C-1 Zone and the C-2 Zone
a. Add the following definition of an 'electric vehicle charging station' to the Code: a public or private parking space located together with a battery charging station that has as its primary purpose the transfer of electric energy to a battery or other storage device in an electrical vehicle, such as passenger automobiles, buses, trucks, vans, neighborhood electric vehicles, electric motorcycles, and the like, and all related infrastructure, equipment and improvements required for such use.
3. Add 'utility-scale solar energy generating facility' as a conditional use in the C-2 Zone.
a. Add the following definition of 'utility-scale solar energy generating facility' to the Code: solar energy devices, facilities, or equipment used to support the development and operation of utility-scale solar energy generating system, including, without limitation, devices that transform solar energy into electricity (e.g. photovoltaic modules and panels), underground or aboveground electrical transmission or communications lines, electric transformers, battery and other energy storage facilities, substations and interconnection facilities, operations and maintenance buildings and facilities, maintenance yards, and all ancillary equipment, facilities, improvements. A utility-scale solar energy generating facility is not a Solar Energy System.
