SYRACUSE CITY Syracuse City Disaster Preparedness Committee March 9, 2023 - 6:30 p.m. Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S. Minutes for the Syracuse City Disaster Preparedness Committee meeting on Thursday February 23, 2023, at 6:30 pm in the large conference room of the Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S., Syracuse City, Davis County, Utah. The following items were discussed: Welcome: Patrick Carroll Call to Order: Patrick Carroll Prayer: TBA Pledge of Allegiance Review Meeting Minutes: TBA Welcome Guests/Visitors: Syracuse Connection Magazine articles: 1. Article for April issue written by Brigham Young submitted. 2. Article for May issue written by Duane Cheney to be review in February meeting - topic TBA. 3. Article for June issue written by Patrick Carroll to be review in March meeting - topic TBA 4. Article for July issue written by Jen Eagle. Committee Business: 1. February Meeting Rescheduled to March 9, 2023 due to late posting of meeting minutes. 2. West District replacement 3. New rep for Fremont District. 4. New District boundaries - How do we get maps? 5. CERT Class Update - combining with other cities? 6. RDAP Class Update 7. EOC update 8. Teaching CERT class at Syracuse High 9. Approval of city letter to be distributed by area reps and included in new move in welcome packet. Action Item Update: 1. 2023 Disaster Preparedness Exercise discussion. Exercise will be the week of April 15th at 6:00pm - April 22nd at 6:00pm and focus on RDAP training. Great Utah Shake Out is on April 20,2023 - https://www.shakeout.org/utah/ A. Get citizens to watch and RDAP video B. Suggested that we make it a preparedness week to give people more time to watch video. C. Put reminders to watch video in Magazine and on Facebook group(s) and to also seek out neighborhood Facebook pages to disseminate preparedness exercise information. D. Highly publicized by District and Area leaders. 2. North Davis E. Prep Fair on 3rd Saturday of September on the odd years and involving nearby cities. This would be a big commitment, but worthwhile. More discussion needed. 3. Next meeting will be March 30th 2023. 4. Transition of committee officers. a. Chair: Mr. Patrick Carroll b. Vice Chair: Brigham Young c.
