MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING 1570 West 400 North Thursday, December 15, 2022 - 6:30 P.M. Council Members Present: Dennis Illum, President Rob Smout Dee Christoffersen Brad Slater Erin Holley, Vice-Pres. Council Present Electronically: Excused: Mayor and Staff: Scott Van Leeuwen, Mayor Bill Morris, Administrator Dana Spencer, City Recorder Marilyn Draper, Secretary Brent Hales, Finance Officer Trent Meyerhoffer, Director Zack Loveland, Director Visitors: Gerald & Orma Bischoff, Diann Bischoff, Tammi Bischoff, Ned & Barbara Allred, Amanda & Josh Slater Family, Donald Elmer, Kathy Smith, Kristine Smout, Pam Slater, Dewey Hayes. 1. Call to Order/ Pledge of Allegiance. Pres. Illum called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2. Discussion/action on minutes. Motion by Mr. Smout to approve the minutes from November 17, 2022. Seconded by Mr. Slater. Vote passed unanimously. 3. Review of new business licenses: a. Town & Country Holdings, LLC, Thompson Company, 1045 S 1200 W b. KJ Mechanical, Inc., 640 North 2075 West, Unit 1. Pres. Illum introduced the business licenses. Motion by Mr. Slater to approve review of Business Licenses, Seconded by Mr. Smout. Vote called and approve unanimously. 4. Discussion/action on 2023 Meeting Schedule. Pres. Illum reviewed the 2023 Meeting Schedule. Motion by Mr. Smout to approve the 2023 Meeting Schedule. Second by Mrs. Holley. Vote called and passed unanimously. 5. Presentation: Annual Awards. Mayor Van Leeuwen presented the annual awards as Mr. Morris read the names of the recipients along with a brief statement about each recipient receiving an award. Good Neighbor Award: Maurice Pitcher, Ren & Marilyn Meyerhoffer, Ken Allred, Gerald & Orma Bischoff, Tammi Bischoff, Brandon Dyer, Don & Judi Elmer. Elna Lucas Community Culture and History Award: Kathy Smith. H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership: Dakota Slater, JaDee Christoffersen. Darrell Mecham Outstanding Community Service Award: Angela Irwin. 6. Convene Christmas Party with Planning Commission and volunteers in Multi-purpose Room. Being no further business, Pres. Illum adjourned the meeting at 6:48 PM. Christmas Party was catered by Bella's was convened in the Senior Center.
