NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Salt Lake City Council is considering transferring certain Open Space Lands owned by Salt Lake City located at 592 N. Riverside Drive for $0 to Riverwood Cove, LLC in exchange for another open space parcel of equal size. This exchange will facilitate the development of a new public park, a community outdoor classroom, and a new walking and bicycling connection to/from Backman Elementary School for Backman Elementary School students, and will resolve a current encroachment by Riverwood Cove, LLC. In exchange for this portion of this parcel, Riverwood Cove, LLC will deed Salt Lake City a portion of a parcel owned by Riverwood Cove, LLC located at 582 N. Riverside Drive of equal square footage. This exchange of property will result in no net loss of open space to the City and will fulfill two objectives: 1. Resolve a current encroachment on Salt Lake City property. 2. Facilitate the development of the Backman Community Open Space. More information on this project can be found at https://www.slc.gov/parks/backman-community-open-space/. As part of the process outlined in City Code Chapter 2.90, the City Council is holding an advertised public hearing to receive comments regarding the petition. During this hearing, anyone desiring to address the City Council concerning this issue will be given an opportunity to speak. The hearing will be held: DATE: Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 7 PM. PLACE: Electronic and in-person options 451 South State Street, Room 326, Salt Lake City, Utah ** This meeting will be held via electronic means, while also providing an in-person opportunity to attend or participate in the hearing at the City and County Building, located at 451 South State Street, Room 326, Salt Lake City, Utah.
