NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice to Reorganize Soldier Summit Special Service District In accordance with Utah Code Section 17D-1-604 and 17D-1-205, NOTICE is hereby given that the Utah County Board of Commissioners intend to reorganize the Soldier Summit Special Service District ('SSSSD') into a local district; and 1. That on October 26, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners, Utah County, Utah, adopted Resolution No. 2022-1028 stating its intent to reorganize the SSSSD into a local district. The reorganized district shall be known as the Soldier Summit Local District ('SSLD'); and 2. That the boundaries of the proposed SSLD shall be those same boundaries which currently comprise the boundaries of the SSSSD; and 3. That the SSLD shall have the authority to provide for or furnish the operation of a system for the collection, storage, retention, control, conservation, treatment, supplying, distribution, or reclamation of water, including storm, flood, sewage, irrigation, and culinary water; and 4. That the taxes may be levied upon all taxable property within the SSLD; and 5. That the fees or charges may be imposed to pay for some or all of the services that the SSLD is proposed to provide; and 6. That in accordance with Utah Code Section 17D-1-206, an interested person may protest the reorganization of the SSSD or a service that the reorganized local is proposed to provide. Each protest must be in writing and submitted to the Utah County Board of Commissioners no later than 60 days after the public hearing required under Utah Code Section 17D-1-204(2) and explain why the person is protesting. 7. That any individual wishing to be considered for appointment to the initial board of trustees for the newly organized local district, SSLD, should submit a letter of interest to the Board of County Commissioners, Utah County, Utah, that meet the qualifications in Utah Code Section 17B-1-302. 8. The Board County Commissioners, Utah County, Utah, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at the Utah County Administration Building, 100 East Center Street, Room 1400, Provo, Utah, to reorganize the SSSD into a local district.
