Geary, Wayne Pahl, Lynn Sitturud, Wayne Luddington.
1. Approval of Minutes: July 5th, 2022 Motioned by Rob 2nd Don
2. Discuss/Approve/Deny
3. Discuss Reports of the Following:
a. BLM- Cane Wash EA was signed, hoping to implement that in the next few weeks. Further
discussion about trails work in Cane Wash. UCC crew signed routes in the San Rafael Desert,
installed carsonites with new numbers. UCC crew working at Swinging Bridge now, installing fences.
Picnic tables and fire rings going in at Swasey's/Nefertiti, including contract for new bathrooms. Also
working on a contract for a bathroom at Justesen Flats. Little Cedar Mountain onsite August 11.
County applied for an IMBA grant. Jurassic National Monument now has the gift shop open, currently
open Thursday-Sunday 10 AM-5 PM. Getting dinosaur replicas soon, 60% of life size. Reroute for
quarry road is moving forward. Still working on interpretive signs. Joe's Valley work day is coming
up. Arepeen Jambereee has no trails on BLM. Thank you Backcountry Horsemen for all their work.
RAC meeting coming up. Les and Rod's position will be open if anyone wants to apply.
b. Forest Service- Myron is still helping with Cane Wash. With Emery Trails Crew and Emery
Telcom trails work by Grassy, fixed pinch point south of Reader, fixed trail about Little's Creek, intend
to finish that on the 15th and 16th this month. Working on the Left Fork of Huntington. ACE crew
starts this month and will be working in that area. Pete's Hole Road fixed. Foot trails around Willow
Lake and Ferron Reservoir have been maintained. Trails at Big Bear and Little Bear are also being
cut out, from Cove Lake. Backcountry Horsemen completed trail work in Black Canyon. Installed
highline and tie rails. Water at Indian Creek will likely be turned off for the rest of the season. ACE
crew will be replacing signs up Huntington Canyon. SCA conservation crew will be starting in
September and will begin in the bouldering area. Discussion about Saw Mill and
maintenance/management. BCHM is planning on working on Josephit Point this month. Discussion
about trail 38 and concerns with pinch points in Sanpete County.
c. State Parks- No representative present.
d. Committee Members- Terri unable to attend Outdoor Rec Summit, if anyone else would like to go.
Les- Little Cedar Mountain onsite August 11th at 9:00 AM.
e. Commission- No comments
f. Travel Bureau and Public Lands- Open ticket for Outdoor Rec Summit, Air B&B booked. Maps
are being printed. Non-moterized and OHV still separate, hoping to combine them in the future.
Looking into Arepeen maps. Working with Grand County on Athena trail, trying to meet with Moab
BLM Archeologist to get a cultural clearance on cement pads. Green River has concerns about
Swasey's Beach. New signs should be here any day. Consider doing a clean up event to help
change the mindset up there.
