Sheri started the meeting, she asked if everyone had looked over the minutes from May. Paul made a motion to approve the minutes, Ted seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Bret advised that James Hunt emailed him and let him know that he has thought about the 500 South project and he is going to go ahead and get with an architect and get some plot plans drawn up. The group briefly discussed the road development requirements.
The group had a general discussion about dogs and how many one residence should have. Bret advised that the city used to have a kennel ordinance. It required that if you had three or more dogs, you had to get a kennel license. But that ordinance has since been done away with. Neighbors can make a nuisance complaint about noise and smell or whatever it may be. Bret advised that it might be a good idea to think of things that could potentially go on the general plan. Bret suggested that the commission think about it and even ask some people in the community or their opinions.
The group discussed the growth of the community. They specifically discussed nightly rentals, and the availability of housing, jobs, income per capita, grants, education, Bears Ears.
The group discussed the power poles that are going out to west water. Bret advised that Blanding has completed their part of the contract but the Navajo Nation isn't going to fulfill their part of the contract until the land is cleaned up.
Sheri made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Paul seconded it.
