Description/Agenda
Amalga Town Board August 10, 2022 Minutes Attending: Mayor David Wood, Council Members: Paul Hansen, Julio Vega, Rick Fonnesbeck, Dave Lee Town Members: Collette Dursteler 1-Pledge of Allegiance: Julio Vega 2-Roll Call: Mayor Wood 3-Approve Minutes of July 13, 2002: Motion to accept, Paul Hansen, 2nd Dave Lee. Motion Carried 4-Sheriff's Report: Not present. Sheriff's report was sent out by email. Total hours-23.25, 8 incidents, 1 citation, 2 warnings. 5-Public Hearing: Cache County Council of Government Improvement Project. 5400 W-2700 W, North to Hwy 218. Road projects have to have a public hearing because they use public funds. Cost $146,500. Prices are bid high because of price hikes. City pays 7%. There were no public visitors. Motion to Approve-Dave Lee Second-Paul Hansen Motion Carried 6-Pioneer Day Review-Excellent reviews. Comments-Move the fire truck hosing up. It was hot, and interest was lagging. Cut back on eggs, and potatoes. Have more chocolate milk. We had 280 and that was not enough. Think 350 for next year. Ham, and pancake flour were fine. Pan cakes were great. We need to get a speaker system and have a Master of Ceremonies. Might vendors and food trucks be a possibility? 7-Council Reports: Paul Hansen: Pickle ball courts are out on Facebook. Park is getting rented out often, so the word is out. Have bill came from Kiery Electric? Fans are a great addition to the bowery. Kristin Allsop is over the youth committee and there are funds available for that. Schriebers has the park on the 20th for a movie in the park. They have invited those that live on the street. Darrell's Appliance has a company party at the park on 27th. Julio Vega: No water shut offs to report. Dave Lee: Four people were on the agenda for P&Z, only two showed up: Paul Campbell, and Brad Noble. Paul received Zoning Clearance for a hay shed on some of the property he bought from Jensons. Brad Noble: We finished his application for a subdivision of the property that his house and shop are on. This did not originally happen and we are just catching up on this. Brad presented a Subdivision Application, which was approved, and P&Z will get him a notarized copy of a Land Use Certificate of Approval which he needs to file with the County Recorder. We still need a new Secretary for P&Z replace me. Rick Fonnesbeck: Testing well #4 by letting it run for 24 hours. If volume decreases after 24 hours, we may have to do something with the well. State says they are missing the CCR(Consumer Confidence Report) report for 2021. Rick will talk to them and see if he can clear this up. Rick will contact Grant Koford for assistance. Mayor: Approached by Sid Munk about lowering the speed limit from 6200 N south to the river, to 35mph for trucks. The LDS temple construction in Smithfield is generating a lot of heavy, big dump truck activity on this stretch of road. There is a hill involved with limited sight. Mayor has ordered two signs which would limit the truck speed limit to 35mph. This will be placed as soon as they arrived. It was suggested that we give a courtesy heads up to Schriebers and to Edge Gravel to let them know about the speed limit change. Invitation extended from the Mayor to Schriebers to make use of the park. Schriebers also extended an invitation to come for the movie night. Signed contract to have Schriebers help with the new chlorine mitigation system and the chlorine gas for the system. Total cost $55,500. This will be charged to Schriebers on their monthly water bill, for 24 months, $2347 per month, with 2% annual interest. Motion made by Dave Lee to accept the contract with Schriebers for the chlorine mitigation system to be paid for with upcharge to water bill of $2347 a month with 2% annual interest, for a total charge of $55,500. Second-Paul Hansen Motion Carried Cash Disbursements: Cash disbursements of $40,622.53 were reviewed.
