NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SALT LAKE VALLEY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AREA (SLVLESA) Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake County Sheriff and Unified Police Department Building, 3365 South 900 West, Room 115, Salt Lake City, UT 84119 The SLVLESA Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake County Sheriff and Unified Police Department Building, 3365 South 900 West, Room 115, Salt Lake City, Utah 84119. Members of the Board may be present in person or participate electronically. The public may physically attend and monitor the open portions of the meeting. Members of the public may also join the open portions of the meeting by calling 1-669 900-9128 and entering Meeting ID 92301763844# and Password 259919#. The public will be allowed to listen to all open portions of the meeting. Public comment will be allowed during the Public Comment portion of the meeting which will start no sooner than 10:00 a.m. For those participating by phone, please mute your phone when you are not making public comment. Reasonable accommodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) may be provided upon receipt of a request with at least three working days' notice. Board Members disclose any conflicts of interest they may have on an agenda item or items. 3. Public Comment. This is a time for members of the public to comment to the Board on any issue regarding SLVLESA. If your comment concerns the proposed budget amendment, please reserve your input for the public hearing at Item 8. For those participating electronically, the SLVLESA clerk will need to take calls in an orderly manner. The SLVLESA clerk will advise a caller when it is the caller's turn to speak. Callers should have their call on the mute function until it is their turn to speak. Please limit your comments to no more than 3 minutes. The Board will take no action on the following matters. The items are intended to provide relevant information and updates to the Board. 4. Present Second Quarter Report, Expenditures for the Months of June and July 2022 and Other Financial Information. Consider RESOLUTION NO. 22818-1 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SALT LAKE VALLEY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AREA (SLVLESA) ACKNOWLEGING THE APPOINTMENT OF A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE WHITE CITY METRO TOWNSHIP TO THE SLVLESA BOARD OF TRUSTEES. Consider RESOLUTION NO. 22818-2 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SALT LAKE VALLEY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AREA (SLVLESA BOARD) EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO PAULINA FLINT FOR HER YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AS A SLVLESA BOARD MEMBER. Consider RESOLUTION NO. 22818-3 OF THE SALT LAKE VALLEY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AREA (SLVLESA) BOARD OF TRUSTEES STATING ITS INTENT TO LEVY A TAX RATE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2023 THAT EXCEEDS ITS CERTIFIED TAX RATE, THE DOLLAR AMOUNT OF THE ESTIMATED AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAX REVENUE THAT WOULD BE GENERATED BY THE PROPOSED INCREASE, THE PURPOSES FOR THE ADDITIONAL AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAX REVENUE AND THE APPROXIMATE PERCENTAGE INCREASE IN THE AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAX REVENUE GENERATED BY THE PROPOSED INCREASE AS REQUIRED BY SECTION 59-2-919 OF THE UTAH CODE. Public Hearing: Consider RESOLUTION NO. 22818-5 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SALT LAKE VALLEY LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE AREA (SLVLESA) AMENDING THE SLVLESA CALENDAR YEAR 2022 BUDGET DECREASING THE GENERAL FUND BALANCE BY $275,000 AND APPROPRIATING $275,000 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES ASSESSMENT FROM THE UNIFIED POLICE DEPARTMENT.
