PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Minutes were read, Doug motioned to accept the minutes, Troy 2nd the motion.
MAYOR UPDATES: The mayor would like to know if the town is interested in selling some property up by Shane Obrays cabins. Shane just purchased the ditch between the cabins and WJ Ag from the Dunns and was interested in buying the property North of the shed along the canal bank. Doug is concerned that the town denied a building permit to the Dunns at one time. He also wants to know what Shane is going to do with it. He said it would need to be advertised. Jesse Campbell said If the property was given to the town, the town can't sell it for profit. Doug doesn't want the town to be held liable for anything. The mayor didn't care what he did with it. He is not interested in getting it appraised and seeing how much it's worth if the town is going to keep it. He just wanted to know if the town was interested in selling it or transferring it. Troy motioned to look into the history/paperwork of the property and see how it was acquired and then go from there.
Treena resigned as town council member. The council will post the opening for two weeks and let those who are interested apply to the office. The council will appoint the new councilmember before the next town council meeting.
WATER: Kurt Marchant with A&D will be mobilizing their equipment the first of next week. They will get started working on Gooseberry Springs. They will also start working on Needle Springs as soon as the agreement is signed by the Parkers.
Kurt said the locks have been changed and A&D can't get through to cross the road to get to the spring.
Steve is wondering if there should be a water restriction on the town. Obviously no watering during the day. It was suggested that the town could be split in half and each half only water on their day. The council decided to ask customers to only water 3 days a week if needed, and to try to conserve water. The customer is paying their overages and the town can use the money.
BUILDING: People who are renting the building are wanting to use the BBQ also. It was built to be used by the public. The council is concerned about the renters cleaning it up and turning it off/liability. The council decided that it will not be available to rent, but that the renters can bring their own.
PLANNING COMMISSION: Tonia Jorgensen was here to get her building permit signed. They have been approved for a 3 bedroom two bathroom shop. The Health department did an allowance of 50 ft away from the ditch instead of 100 ft for the septic tank. The leach line has to be 100 ft and they will run that away from the ditch. The mayor signed off.
The council looked over the budget and would like to pay the PC $10.00 a month for one meeting. The budget will be adjusted to $1000 for that. Doug made a motion to pay our PC, Troy seconded it. They will be paid at the end of the year like the council.
Doug wondered if we wanted Ed Payette's grandson to continue working on the town website. He cleaned up a lot of ads attached to it. It's also nice to have all the ordinances available to the public. Tim Vandersluich is also available to help with it.
MISCELLANEOUS: A cousin to Bill and Marcia Keach is wondering if the town is interested in the old cabin that's on the Keach property. The family trust of the cabin would use $1200 that is in the family fund to move it down to the park. The Keach's were not aware that they had decided to move it. The cousin is afraid it will get torn down if they sell the homestead.
Troy motioned that we didn't want the cabin for kids to vandalize and Steve to have to take care of. Doug 2nd the motion.
Troy motioned for a 2% increase for the full time employees. Doug seconded the motion.
Troy motioned to adjourn the meeting, Doug seconded the motion. All were in favor.
