TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING Property Tax Notice & Hearing Central Utah Water Conservancy District 1426 E 750 N, Orem, UT 84097 08/22/2022 6:00 PM NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE Central Utah Water Conservancy District IN SALT LAKE COUNTY The Central Utah Water Conservancy District is proposing to increase its property tax revenue. - The Central Utah Water Conservancy District tax on a $561,000.00 residence would increase from $99.35 to $123.42, which is $24.07 per year. - The Central Utah Water Conservancy District tax on a $561,000.00 business would increase from $180.64 to $224.40, which is $43.76 per year. - If the proposed budget is approved, Central Utah Water Conservancy District would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 21.84% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding new growth. All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing on the tax increase. PUBLIC HEARING Date/Time: 8/22/2022 6:00 P.M. Location: Central Utah Water Conservancy District, 1426 E 750 N, Building 2 (first building on the right) Orem AGENDA 1. Call to Order 2. Welcome and Information a. Recognize Trustees, Elected Officials, and Staff b. This hearing is for the CUWCD tax increase - no other taxes or issues will be addressed c. The Process of Hearings: Hearings to be held on August 18th in Roosevelt and on August 22nd in Orem at District Headquarters d. The Purpose of the hearing is to receive input on the proposed tax increase e. Fact Sheet: Available as public information. f. Comment Guidelines and Sign-up Sheet i. Available for those who would like to comment ii. Comments will be limited to 3 minutes per individual iii. Fill out and turn in the comment sign-up sheet if you wish to make a comment 3. Final Budget Hearing: To be held August 24th prior to CUWCD's scheduled Board Meeting at District Headquarters in Orem at 1:00 PM. The proposed tax increase and final budget will be considered for adoption 4. Presentation: Explanation of the need for a tax increase 5. Open hearing for public comment - Comments are limited to 3 minutes per individual 6.
