NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that South Ogden City will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 6:00 pm to receive and consider comments on proposed Enterprise Fund Transfers. The hearing will be held in the South Ogden City Council Chambers, 3950 Adams Avenue, South Ogden, UT 84403. Anyone interested is invited to attend and offer comment.
The South Ogden City Council is proposing that the City transfer money from the City's Enterprise Funds, including Water, Sewer, Storm Drain and Garbage, to the City's General Fund in the Fiscal Year 2023 budget. Enterprise Funds are operated and accounted for as separate businesses. Since the City collects franchise and property taxes from businesses and non-city utilities operating in the City, the transfer from each of the City's Enterprise Funds (Water, Sewer, Storm Drain, and Garbage) to the General Fund acts as the City's collection of these franchise and property taxes.
The amounts shown below are the maximum amounts proposed. The actual amounts approved in the budget or transferred may be less.
Franchise/Property tax to General Fund:
Water- $125,297; Sewer- $145,402; Storm Drain- $79,297; Garbage- $61,655.
Percentage of total Enterprise Fund: Water- 3.98%; Sewer- 4.87%; Storm Drain- 3.56%; Garbage- 5.84%.
