- The Five County Association of Governments Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan has been approved by both the State Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The plan approval is pending adoption resolutions from the participating jurisdictions, including the Five County Association of Governments, the region's counties, cities, towns, and the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah. The Five County Association of Governments worked in partnership with communities in the region to update the plan. Planning meetings were held with city and county officials, emergency management agencies, participants from the tribe, and interested individuals. The AOG must have an approved hazard mitigation plan for FCAOG communities, agencies, and others to access state hazard mitigation grant funds. The plan includes an assessment of natural hazards, describes past progress and accomplishments toward mitigation, and sets goals and action items to reduce the impact of natural hazards in the future.
