SYRACUSE CITY Syracuse City Disaster Preparedness Committee March 24, 2022 - 6:30 p.m. Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S. Notice is hereby given that the Syracuse City Disaster Preparedness Committee will participate in a meeting on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the large conference room of the Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S., Syracuse City, Davis County, Utah. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss/review the following items: Welcome: Dan Merkling Call to Order: Dan Merkling Prayer: TBA Pledge of Allegiance Review Meeting Minutes: Brigham Welcome Guests/Visitors: Syracuse Connection Magazine articles: 1. Patrick to read article for June magazine. Topic - Where to Get Storage Items 2. Jennifer to read article in April for July magazine. Topic - Disaster Preparedness for your Pets 3. Topics for August Syracuse Connection Magazine article by TBD 4. Topic for September Syracuse Connection Magazine article by Judy Action Item Update: 1. News of West District replacement for Lane Smith. 2. April the 23rd Disaster Preparedness Exercise: Open discussion A. Finalize process that we will follow. 1. Will focus on a chemical spill. 2. Evacuation of citizens is not feasible during an exercise 3. Three main objectives (pledges) a. Sign up for Code RED using QR code b. Prepare/Assess your car kits and go-bags c. Keep car gas tank at least 1/2 full 4. Erin will post on Facebook at 10am will count the 'likes' at 10:30am to see how many participated 5. Conference room will be set up for those who want to come over 6. District leaders to publicize Exercise to Areas 7. Judy and Jen prepared a great flyer to use 8. Duane to get pledge items and QR code from flyer into April magazine 9. Erin/Jenn to get post pinned to top of Syracuse Citizens FB group 10. Need to compare responses to previous year to track.
