- PUBLIC OFFICIALS TRAINING SESSION OFFICIALS FROM THE TOWNS OF SPRINGDALE, ROCKVILLE, AND VIRGIN WILL ATTEND A JOINT TRAINING SESSION ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2022 AT 9:30 AM AT THE CANYON COMMUNITY CENTER, LOCATED AT 126 LION BLVD., SPRINGDALE, UTAH NO ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN BY ANY OF THE PUBLIC BODY PARTICIPANTS THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND TOPICS OF DISCUSSION: 1. (9:30 am) Darci Carlson, Town Clerk, Town of Springdale Welcome and introductions Open and Public Meetings Act (OPMA) Training 2. (10:00 am) Jordan Cullimore, Lead Attorney, Office of the Property Rights Ombudsman The Importance of property rights and how they interface with local land us control Local Government's obligation in respecting property rights Questions and answers 3. (11:30 am) J. Gregory Hardman, Attorney-Shareholder, Snow Jensen & Reece Attorney-Client communication - what is it, how should public bodies use it in decision making, when is it confidential, etc. Ethics in public service Session times are approximate. We anticipate the training to last about three hours. Light snacks will be provided for everyone to enjoy, however, we will not be serving a meal. Please bring your own beverage.
