NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE SOUTH JORDAN SENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTTEE WILL HOLD ITS MEETING ELECTRONICALLY, VIA ZOOM PHONE AND VIDEO CONFERENCING WITH NO ANCHOR LOCATION, ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2022. PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES WHO MAY NEED ASSISTANCE SHOULD CONTACT THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES STAFF AT (801) 254-3742, AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THIS MEETING.
I, Mick Florin, the Chair of the City of South Jordan Senior Advisory Committee, hereby determine that conducting Senior Advisory Committee meeting at an anchor location presents a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present at the anchor location. There is a state, national, and global pandemic exists related to the new strain of the coronavirus, SARS- CoV-2 and outbreaks of the coronavirus disease COVID-19 that has now spread globally including in Utah. Due to the global pandemic, I find that conducting a meeting at an anchor location under the current state of public health emergency constitutes a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present at the anchor location. This determination not to meet in an anchor location shall be valid for thirty days.
In the event an electronic meeting is disrupted in any way that the City in its sole discretion deems in appropriate, including the posting of offensive pictures, remarks, or making offensive statements, the City reserves the right to immediately remove the individual(s) from the meeting and, if needed, end the electronic meeting with or without a motion and vote. If a meeting is ended prior to all items being addressed, any items not addressed shall be moved to the next regularly scheduled meeting or a special meeting whichever is first.
Attendees will be allowed to join via phone or video, using Zoom phone and video conferencing.

a. Senior Program Events Attended:
i. Talent Show. Thu. Dec 2, 11:00 AM (volunteer time 10:30 AM-12:00 PM), AND Sat. Dec 4, 3:30 & 7 PM (volunteer time 3:00-8:30 PM)
1. This went very well. Thursday ended up being more of a dress rehearsal, and Saturday was very successful with everyone showing up. The 2nd show was not necessary, and everyone would like to do it again in the future.
ii. Holiday Banquet: Wed. Dec 15, 11:30 AM (volunteer time 11:00 AM-1:00 PM)
1. The snow storm affected the number of attendance, but entertainment still came and we had 88 in-person and 17 to-go.
iii. Noon Year's Eve Party: Fri. Dec 31, 11:30 AM (volunteer time 11:00 AM-1:00 PM)
1. Another storm-but a good turnout. 60 in-person and 18 to-go.
iv. Blue Hawaii Luau, Elvis Birthday party: Fri. Jan 7, 11:30 AM (volunteer time 11:00 AM-1:00 PM)
1. No storm, served 42 in-person, 23 to-go.
b. Sponsoring Bingo 2022? Last month both members voted yes on sponsoring Bingo. I have had sponsors cover most dates, but I do have Wednesday, March 2 open.
4. New Business: (Mick)
a. Recruiting more members to add to the committee.
i. City efforts to support recruitment include
1. Working on putting an ad in the South Jordan City Journal and the Focus. Jamie is working with the communications department on getting this done. There is a cost to the ad, $250 for a 1/4 page, $450 for 1/2 page, and $750 for a full page. Committee will be asked to approve or deny the cost below.
2. Listed it in the Senior Programs Newsletter. Jamie listed it in January and again in February 1
3. Putting a poster up at the Community Center. This will be posted by Feb 1
ii. Pat Vogt has decided not to be reassigned to the committee.
iii. Received a letter from a promising committee appointee, saying she has decided not to apply.
