Call to Order: Kelly Lamb called to order at 5:10
In attendance: Mayor Lamb, board members Deone Baird, David Maxwell, Clayton Cox, Commissioner Wade Heaton, Clerk Becky Helms, John Phillips, Loraine Chamberlain, Mike Chamberlain, Paul Cox, Austin Soderquist, Michael Frost, Dan Spencer, Kristy L Brinkerhoff, Chris Williams, Jim Wiggins, Kay Wiggins, New Kane County Hospital Director Kurt Loveless, Jones and Demille Rep. James Stewart, Bruce Harris, Patricia Bair, Bob Bair, Roger Chamberlain .
Mayor Lamb read the Utah code 20A-1-510, and partial 10-3-301 concerning the procedure of picking new board member.
Clayton asked picking of new board member be tabled, because he was not aware of empty board seat until beginning of week and the time of board meeting was changed. He felt the new Board may want to choose a different person. Mayor Lamb and board members stated that all parties of interest were notified in plenty of time, of time change and were all present and ready to proceed. David Maxwell read the portion of the code that stated only those that had their names into the Clerk by the cut off date could be considered for the position. It was determined that all procedures were followed and interested applicants were present.
INTERVIEW AND CHOOSE POTENTIAL NEW BOARD MEMBER TO FILL OPEN 2 YEAR TERM BOARD SEAT
Austin Soderquist, Loraine Chamberlain, Michael Frost, Paul Cox, Jim Wiggins were those interested in this board position. All attended and were asked to let the board know why they were interested in the position. Each person gave a brief introduction and statement. They were asked a few questions.
Existing Board Members each casted a vote on paper for two Applicants. Kristy Brinkerhoff and Chris Williams counted the votes and determined top two votes went to Paul Cox and Michael Frost. At which time votes were cast again. Kurt Loveless was asked to tally the votes 2 @ for Paul and Michael. At which time it became a lottery type vote. Bruce Harris drew the name of Paul Cox.
ADJOURN AND GO INTO REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING. Meeting Adjourned at 5:40, to move into Regular Town Board meeting
Paul Cox was sworn into office by Clerk Becky Helms, during brief recess prior to Regular Town Board Meeting.
