I am not aware of a term limit for Salt Lake County COG appointees. LAC Appointments: Although I assume the COG would want to appoint a member of the COG to serve on the LAC, it is not a requirement that the appointee be a COG member. It may be worth noting that if Clint Smith were to continue serving on the LAC, he is slated to be the 2022 chair of the council. It is really up to the COG if they choose to make new appointments for any or all 3 Salt Lake County positions. The Salt Lake City appointment is independent of the SLCo COG. LAC Alternate Member: SLCo COG appointed an alternate member in 2018 (Dan Peay). Whether or not to appoint an alternate is at the discretion of the COGs, but alternates are required to go through the same annual training and disclosure process as regular members and must keep current with the business of the council. LAC Member Expectations: Appointees are expected to attend all four (4) 2022 regular LAC meetings on the following dates at 1:00 p.m.: - February 16 - June 1 - September 7 - November 2 Membership: (SB 136 (2018)): - The council of governments of a county of the first class within a large public transit district shall appoint three members to the local advisory board - Chief executive officer of a city that is the county seat within a county of the first class Current membership: - Salt Lake City - Erin Mendenhall - Salt Lake County COG - Robert Hale - Salt Lake County COG - Clint Smith - Salt Lake County COG - Troy Walker 7. 1:21 pm (3 minutes) COG Public Works Committee Assignments - Mayor Dirk Burton Role and Responsibilities - meets once a year to disburse corridor preservation funds Need to nominate two committee members Current members: Mayor Dahle, Chair Council member Ann Granato Mayor Trent Staggs Mayor Dawn Ramsey Needed: Nomination and election of two (2) members to replace Mayor Derk Timothy and Mayor Mike Peterson 8. 1:24 pm (3 minutes) Zoo, Arts, and Parks (ZAP)/TRCC Nomination process - Matt Castillo, Director of Arts & Culture; Daniel Stergious, ZAP Program Coordinator, Samantha Thermos, ZAP Director, and Brad Kendrick, Tourism, Recreation, Cultural, and Convention (TRCC) Committee Number of Vacancies: On TRCC, there are three (3) vacant seats for COG to nominate individuals for service.
