Advisory Council (LAC) Assignments -
Jana Ostler, UTA
The following is from Jana Ostler, UTA Local Advisory Council Manager jostler@rideuta.com
LAC Terms:
Terms for the council are not set by statute or by UTA, they are set by the individual COGs, we just need to be informed as to the terms that are set. I am not aware of a term limit for Salt Lake County COG appointees.
LAC Appointments:
Although I assume the COG would want to appoint a member of the COG to serve on the LAC, it is not a requirement that the appointee be a COG member. It may be worth noting that if Clint Smith were to continue serving on the LAC, he is slated to be the 2022 chair of the council. It is really up to the COG if they choose to make new appointments for any or all 3 Salt Lake County positions. The Salt Lake City appointment is independent of the SLCo COG.
LAC Alternate Member:
SLCo COG appointed an alternate member in 2018 (Dan Peay). Whether or not to appoint an alternate is at the discretion of the COGs, but alternates are required to go through the same annual training and disclosure process as regular members and must keep current with the business of the council.
LAC Member Expectations:
Appointees are expected to attend all four (4) 2022 regular LAC meetings on the following dates at 1:00 p.m.:
- February 16
- June 1
- September 7
- November 2
