Notice is being given of a Midterm City Council Vacancy in Washington, Utah. Any person interested in serving as a City Council Member, and meeting the following eligibility and residency requirements, is hereby invited to submit a letter of intent to serve. The appointed Council Member will serve through the vacated term of Council Member Kress Staheli ending December 31, 2023.
Eligibility and Residency Requirements:
Candidates must be a United States citizen at time of filing for candidacy.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the appointment.
Candidates must be a legal resident of the municipality for 12 consecutive months
immediately preceding the date of appointment.
Candidate must be a registered voter of the municipality.
Pursuant to Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to vote or hold elective office is restored as provided by statute.

In your letter, please include answers to the following questions to verify eligibility:
Are you a United States Citizen?
Are you at least 18 years of age as of January 18, 2022?
Have you been a Washington City resident for the previous 12 consecutive months?
Are you a Washington City registered voter?
