NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION OF ANNEXATION PETITION Pursuant to Section 10-2-406, U.C.A., Wellsville City, Utah, hereby gives notice as follows: 1. On November 22, 2021 a petition proposing the annexation of real property located between approximately 573 East to 625 East to 250 South 550 South approximately 20.74 acres has been filed by Daniel R. McClendon and Cherilyn N. McClendon. 2 On December 1, 2021, the Wellsville City Council approved Resolution 2021-16 accepting the Petition to be further considered and authorizing the Petition to be certified. 3. On December 15, 2021, the Wellsville City Council received the required Notice of Certification from the City Recorder certifying that the Petition meets the requirements of State Law. 4. The area proposed for annexation in the petition is described as follows: PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 2, TOWNSHIP 10 NORTH, RANGE 1 WEST, SALT LAKE MERIDIAN, LOCATED IN CACHE COUNTY, UTAH, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT THE EAST QUARTER CORNER OF SAID SECTION; THENCE S89°56'34'W 1864.50 FEET ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER; THENCE S0°43'37'W 16.50 FEET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF 200 SOUTH STREET; THENCE S0°43'37'W 330.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING ON THE EXISTING WELLSVILLE CITY CORPORATE LIMIT LINE; THENCE S0°43'37'W 1890.51 FEET TO A REBAR WITH FORESIGHT SURVEYING CAP; THENCE S0°48'54'W 418.32 FEET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID SECTION; THENCE N89°45'59'W 210.94 FEET ALONG SAID SOUTH LINE; THENCE N0°37'03'E 754.57 FEET ALONG A FENCE TO A RAILROAD TIE FENCE CORNER; THENCE S89°49'17'W 264.03 FEET; THENCE N0°37'03'E 1553.69 FEET TO SAID CORPORATE LIMIT LINE; THENCE N89°56'34'E 480.02 FEET ALONG SAID CORPORATE LIMIT LINE TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. CONTAINING 20.74 ACRES, MORE OR LESS. 5. The complete Annexation Petition is available for inspection and copying at the Wellsville City Manager's Office, 75 East Main, Wellsville, Utah Monday through Thursday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 6. Wellsville City may grant the Petition and annex the above-described area unless a written protest to the Annexation Petition is filed with Cache County Boundary Commission c/o Janeen Allen, Secretary 199 North Main, Logan, Utah, 84321, by an authorized protestor (10-2-407 Utah Code), and a copy of the protest is delivered to the Wellsville City Recorder at the address noted above. Any protest must be filed as herein stated by no later than Monday, January 14, 2022. 7. If no protests are received, the Wellsville City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Wellsville City Council Chambers 75 East Main, Wellsville, Utah to consider a request to annex this property.
