Mammoth Creek Special Service Fire District Minutes for October 23, 2021 Board Meeting at the Fire Station Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman Paul Martino at 9 AM. Present: Paul Martino, Dale Askew, Pam Borgos (via telephone conference), Carl Radomski. Absent: Dave Johnson and Wayne Koons. Others Present: Fire Chief Mary-Jane Ensor, Buck West and Taylor Martino. Review Last Meetings Minutes: After reviewing the minutes from our previous meeting Carl Radomski moved for approval with a second from Pam Borgos. Motion passed. Board Member Status: Dale Askew informed the board that Paul Martino's appointment to the Board was scheduled for approval by the Garfield County Commission on Monday, October 25, 2021 and that Board Member Carl Radomski's term will expire on December 31, 2021. Carl stated that he wanted to be appointed for another four year term so his request will be submitted to the Garfield County Commission for approval. Another name (Steve Crescenti) was discussed as a possible new Board Member to fill the remaining open position and Paul Martino will follow up with Steve and report back to the Board. This agenda item is a discussion item and does not require a motion. Financial Reports: Dale Askew presented the Interim Financial Report and Comparison to Budget for the period ended October 23, 2021 and the projected period ending December 31, 2021. Carl Radomski moved for approval with a second from Pam Borgos. Motion Passed. Public Hearing-tentative Budget for 2022: Chairman Paul Martino opened the public hearing and asked Dale Askew to present the tentative budget request for 2022 to the Board. After considerable discussion the Board made changes to the tentative budget. Carl Radomski moved to approve the amended tentative budget request as the Final Budget for 2022 with a second from Pam Borgos. Motion passed. Paul closed the public hearing. Chief Ensor Items and Concerns: Chief Ensor informed the Board that some of the Volunteer Firefighters along with herself would be attending the upcoming Winter Fire School. The Chief also discussed the need for a few more Volunteer Firefighters and that she was actively recruiting to fill open positions. Board 2022 Meeting Schedule: All scheduled meetings for 2022 will be held at the fire station. Saturday May 28, 2022 to follow the Mammoth Creek Home Owners' Association annual meeting around 12PM. Sunday September 4, 2022 at 9AM. Saturday October 29, 2022 9AM at the fire station including a public hearing on next year's 2023 Budget. Adjourn: Meeting adjourned at 10:40AM.
