SALT LAKE CITY PLANNING DIVISION ADMINISTRATIVE HEARING September 23, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. This meeting was held electronically The Administrative Hearing for the Salt Lake City Planning Division was held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at approximately 5:00 p.m. remotely. Joel Paterson, Zoning Administrator, was present as the Administrative Hearing Officer and called the meeting to order. Asphalt Systems, Inc. Expansion at approximately 2775 West 1500 South - Phil Manning, representing the property owner, is requesting a Conditional Use approval for an expansion of the existing asphalt manufacturing at approximately 2775 W 1500 S. The expansion primarily consists of a new concrete pad with approximately 8 storage tanks and equipment. An expansion of the asphalt manufacturing in the M-1 zone requires a Conditional Use approval.The property is in the M-1, Light Manufacturing zoning district and is located within Council District 2, represented by Dennis Faris. (Staff contact: Wayne Mills at (385) 226-8461 or wayne.mills@slcgov.com) Case number PLNPCM2021-00250 Wayne Mills, Planning Manager, reviewed the petition as outlined in the Staff Report (located in the case file). He stated Staff recommends approval of the request. Phil Manning, applicant, provided further details of the request. The Applicant and Staff discussed the following: - Height requirement The public hearing was opened for public comment on the matter. Nobody was present from the public so; the public hearing was closed. Motion Joel Paterson, Administrative Hearing officer stated, based on the analysis and findings in the staff report, the information presented, and the input provided by the applicant, I grant approval of petition PLNPCM2021-00250 as recommended in the staff report.
