Description/Agenda

The Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining (UBOGM) meets Wednesday, September 22 at 9 a.m. Pursuant to Utah Code Ann. § 52-4-207, the meeting will be conducted electronically with an anchor location at the Department of Natural Resources building located at 1594 West North Temple in Salt Lake City. The meeting will be streamed live on the Department of Natural Resources YouTube channel. The Division of Oil, Gas and Mining will conduct a Briefing Session at 10 a.m.: 1. Recognition of Former Board Members' Years of Service 2. Coal Program Update 3. Required Rulemaking Update 4. Proposed Board Hearing Schedule for 2022 5. Other 6. Next Month's Agenda and Division Calendar 7. Opportunity for Public Comment- Members of the public who wish to participate in the meeting electronically or in-person must contact Board Secretary Julie Ann Carter at 801-538-5277 or juliecarter@utah.gov at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. Attendees are required to abide by all public health protocols in place at the time of the meeting The Board will hear the following Matters at or around 10 a.m.: 1. Docket No. 2021-019 Cause No. 479-02 - In the matter of the Petition for Agency Action of EVEREST ENERGY, LLC to set for investigation and a hearing to determine why WESTSTAR EXPLORATION COMPANY has not paid proceeds of oil and gas production. 2. Docket No. 2021-021 Cause No. 475-06 - In the matter of the Request for Agency Action of MIDDLE FORK ENERGY UINTA, LLC for an order: (1) Modifying the Board's order entered in Cause No. 187-09 and suspending Utah Admin. Code Rules R649-3-2, R649-3-10 and R649-3-11(1) and (2) to allow for the drilling and production of up to 30 Mesaverde and Upper Mancos wells with modified inter-well setbacks in Lots 1 and 3 through 6, E1/2SW1/4 and E1/2 of Section 29, Township 8 South, Range 22 East, SLM; and (2) Clarifying the Board's order entered in Cause No. 187-08 to confirm that Utah Admin. Code Rules R649-3-2, R649-3-10 and R649-3-11 (1) and (2) are suspended as to all formations and lands within the White River Federal Unit located within Township 8 South, Ranges 22 and 23 East, SLM, all in Uintah County, Utah. 3. Docket No. 2019-014 Cause No. C/007/0045 - In re: Request by the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining to forfeit the reclamation surety in order to complete reclamation of the Wellington Dry-Coal Cleaning Facility, Permit No. C/007/0045, located in Section 14, Township 15 South, Range 10 East, SLBM, Carbon County, Utah. (This matter has been continued to the regularly scheduled Board hearing in March 2022.)
