Conduct subcommittee monthly check-in reports from subcommittee heads: Preservation (Chris Schow) 1. We need to work with Scott Darrington to get an RFP about the Old Town Hall going. (FYI: Steve Cornell, the state architect with SHPO who designed the Old Town Hall renderings, resigned. A replacement is being advertised right now.) 2. What should be done with the fort rock at the corner of 100 East Center (move to Rose Garden Park, move to one of the other fort corners, etc.)? 3. Report back about the Cemetery training event held on August 11 with Amy Barry from SHPO. Next steps? (Karen Harbold is heading up this project.) Archives (Karen Harbold) Next inventory session is Wednesday, September 8 at 4:30 PM. History & Publications (Laurel Cunningham) 1. Laurel started editing Volume 2 of the PG history book (currently on page 30 of 500) with the intent of having it re-printed. 2. We need to reprint the Strawberry Days book again (only 8 books are left) for Heritage Festival sale. (Print run 1: 150 copies; Print run 2: 75 copies). Will print 50 copies for Print run 3. Community Outreach (Denise Trickler) For 2 years, the Commission has had a table at Heritage Festival. Laurel will staff this table as in years past. Ideas for the table: - Create 8 posters depicting the PG founding families. - Sell our publications. Other Business Items 1. Discuss how to change city policy-Pleasant Grove City currently has a procedure in place to approve monuments requested by families or organizations, However, running these monuments past the Historic Preservation Commission is not part of the process. How can we get this changed? (For instance, the SUP marker was installed in Rose Garden Park on Saturday, August 14 with no input from the Commission.) 2. Present a FY 2021-2022 budget-Review the presented draft version of the budget and add or subtract items before our September meeting. Vote to approve in September. (Fiscal year is July 1 to June 30.) 3. Adjourn meeting to discuss Heritage Festival-Stacy Martineau leads this discussion. Next meeting: Thursday, September 16, 7 PM
