The annual loan payment will be about $50,000 for this project. In order to cover the cost, water rates will have to be increased. He proposed a new rate schedule.
Current Rates:
Base $25
0 - 2000 gal $1.00 per thousand gallons
2001 - 4000 gallons $1.50 per thousand gallons
4001 - 8000 gallons $2.00 per thousand gallons

4002 - 8000 gallons $3.00 per thousand gallons
8000 and up $5.25 per thousand gallons
There was also some discussion about instituting a commercial rate structure.
Proposed Commercial Rate Structure:
Base $50
0 - 2000 gallons $2.00 per thousand gallons
2001 - 4000 gallons $4.00 per thousand gallons
4001 - 8000 gallons $6.00 per thousand gallons
8001 and up $8.00 per thousand gallons
An impact fee was also discussed for new connection to the system, probably around $2500.
There will be a conference call with the Division of Drinking Water on 2 July 2021 at 9:00 am to go over the check list for the project.
The site for the new water tank will be just west of the present tank. There was some discussion about the tank.
Kelly and Brennan thanked the council and excused themselves.
Irrigation Water. The town has a rate system in place to cover the cost of maintaining the irrigation system of the town's line. Property owners are expected to maintain their own spur off the line. However, there is nothing in place that would determine who pays for the cost of an improvement in the system. Some suggestions were made that improvement of individual lines would be the expense of the property owner(s) that the improvement would effect. The maintenance rate structure was also discussed. Changes in the Irrigation Ordinance will have to be made.
Other.
Mayor Johnson will be at the funding meeting for CIB on 1 July 2021 to request the funds for the road project.
III. ADJOURNMENT. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 pm.
