NOTICE OF CITIZEN COMMENT PERIOD
The St. George Police Department recently received notification of available funding from the United States Justice Department under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) FY 2021 Local Solicitation. The JAG program provides local agencies with the flexibility to prioritize and place justice funds where needed most. The St. George Police Department is eligible to receive $23,529.
JAG funds may be used to provide additional personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, training, technical assistance, and information systems for criminal justice.
The St. George Police Department is seeking financial assistance for maintenance and storage migration of existing videos recorded by officers' body worn cameras as well as to migrate the body worn camera videos from one vendor to another. By transitioning the videos, the department will no longer utilize two separate systems for video management, creating efficiency and cost savings.
Public comments and questions should be emailed to michael.giles@sgcity.org. The deadline for accepting public comments is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
