Arns told the council they did their best to put a bandage on it,' he continued, 'SCADA runs the plant and we are limping.' This system monitors the water and sewer systems in the city. The council asked for a price on that system so the council can move forward. Mayor Mills suggested putting money aside in the budget along with applying for a grant. He suggested keeping that item on the budget for CIB funding for next year under Sewer Improvements Brent also presented a Vertical Auger Monster Budget Design Information from Waterford Systems for consideration at a later date, also known as JWC Environmental. The Budget Price per unit: $165,000. This system could save wear on the pumps. Information on the Auger is attached and will become a permanent part of the minutes for public viewing. DIRECTOR OF FINANCES, SECRETARY/TREASURER & RECORDERS REPORT: Secretary/Treasurer Michelle Dalton received a call from Tintic High School in Eureka, Juab County Utah, asking if Mona City would like purchase and ad to help with a fund raiser at their school, where they will add Mona City's information & logo on their T-Shirts. Various prices were presented, Mona City Council decided to donate $375.00 for a small ad to be placed on the school's shirts. There was no motion called on the donation. City Recorder Lyla Spencer reminded the council that the upcoming filing period is from June 1 to June 7, 2021. The deadline for filing is June 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. The filing period will be held during regular business hours located at 20 West Center Street. The Mona City Disbursement Listing for checking dated 05/12/2021 to 05/25/2021was presented to the council. There was one question on Pat Painter, Check #5033 in the amount of $3,300. Everd reminded the council in reference to the city's upcoming annual budget presentation where they will amend the 2021 budget and adopt the proposed budget for 2022, which will be held the first meeting in June. (June 8th, 2021at 7:30 p.m.) MONA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 25, 2021 COUNCIL CHAMBERS COUNCIL BUSINESS: Councilmember Frank Riding reported the cemetery has been sprayed and the flowers are up. Councilmember Randy Christensen met with the county in reference to the CIB application, he will submit the application this week, the first public hearing will be held June 8, 2021 at 7:30. Councilmember Jay Mecham inquired about his garbage contract, which according to the Director of Finance & the City Auditor has not been approved by the council. However further investigation showed that the mayor did sign the contract in 2019 but it was not approved by the council at the time of signing. The minutes for that date stated the issue was tabled. This being the case, the contract will be up for approval again in 2024. It is a 5 year contract. It will require the council to approve the Country Garbage Contract during the June 8th 2021 council meeting to satisfy the 2019 signing. Councilmember Amy Stanley presented the tentative schedule for the 24th of July Celebration. The schedule is attached and will become a permanent part of the minutes for public viewing. The celebration will be held Friday July 23 and Saturday July 24th, 2021. Councilmember Stanley is happy to have Clayton Smalley a Utah Based Country Artist performing at the celebration on Saturday the 24th at 8:30 p.m. There is a concern in regard to the concrete stage according to Councilmember Stanley it will need to be made larger before the celebration. Jason Gibson will provide the music and work as the DJ for the celebration. She noted the stage is too small, by the time Jason gets his equipment on the stage there is not enough room, and we will need to add two feet of concrete on each side. There is an option of a wooden stand that could be removed after the celebration but she noted the concrete stage would be a much better option. Councilmember Mecham said one of our city contractors might have enough concrete left from one of their jobs to make the stage. Stanley said she will check with local builders to see if that is a possibility. A Grand Marshal for the parade still needs to be selected and needs to have the selection process started for the King and Queen and Prince and Princess. FYI: There were three (3) motions voted upon and passed, a motion to approve the May 11, 2021 minutes, a motion to approve a clean out system for the sewer plant, and a motion to adjourn this meeting of May 25, 2021. PAY FINANCES ADJOURNMENT: Councilmember Jay Mecham moved to make a motion to pay the finances and adjourn, Councilmember Frank Riding made a second to that motion, all present were in favor, motion carried. (3rd Motion) The city council meeting was then adjourned at 9:15 p.m., with no further comments.
