Salt Lake City Utah
Listening Session Agenda
Wednesday, May 19, 2021
6:00 pm
This meeting will be an electronic meeting pursuant to the Core Commission and City Council Chair's determination that conducting the meeting at a physical location presents a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present at the anchor location. The Listening Session will not have a physical location and all attendees will connect remotely.
The Racial Equity in Policing Commission will hold a live, televised listening community conversation with Mayor Erin Mendenhall, Police Chief Mike Brown, and members of the City Council. The session is designed to give the Commission a wide range of perspectives on policing in Salt Lake City and is focused on hearing from Communities of Color.
Members of the audience can participate via phone, text message, or online using a dedicated social media hashtag. Answers will be posted and shared in real-time with viewers. The Commission will also conduct a random 'dial-out' to several thousand homes across the community to help encourage a broad cross-section of participation prior to the listening session.
To participate during the event, members of the public can:
- Call (888) 849-5231 to participate in Mandarin
- Call (888) 848-6122 to participate in Arabic
