SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION NOTICE OF 2021 MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 2, 2021 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there will be a Municipal General Election held on November 2, 2021 to elect Council Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7. District 2 will also appear on the ballot due to a midterm vacancy and will be a two-year term. These districts will be elected by using the Ranked Choice Voting method without a Primary Election. Each person seeking to become a candidate must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person, by appointment with the City Recorder between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning on August 10, 2021 and ending on August 17, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. and pay a filing fee of $90.00 or collect the required amount of signatures for the office. The statutory and City Code provisions related to declarations of candidacy and eligibility to run for City Council seats are Utah Code 20A-9-203 and 10-3-301. For these reasons, the Council Meeting will not have a physical location at the City and County Building and all attendees will connect remotely.
