SYRACUSE CITY Syracuse City Disaster Prep Committee March 25, 2021 - 6:30 p.m. Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S. Notice is hereby given that the Syracuse City Disaster Prep Committee will participate in a meeting on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. in the large conference room of the Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S., Syracuse City, Davis County, Utah. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss/review the following items: Welcome -Duane Cheney Call to Order- Prayer Pledge Action Item Update District Yr Mo Topic Article Due Syracuse West Dist 2021 Feb Aug To be determined July 5 Syracuse District 2021 Jul/ Sept Build your own first aid kit June-5 Syracuse South 2021 April- Oct How to stay warm when there's no electricity Sep 5 Legacy District 2021 May Nov FRS Radio usage in an Emergency April 5 Bluff District 2021 June Dec Water in an Emergency May 5 Committee Business: 1. Discussion of the April 17th Disaster Exercise: It has been published in the Syracuse Connection Magazine and distributed throughout the city in Facebook and other forms. - Dan Merkling to discuss local business donation status - Report on the Door Prizes (10) progress (putting them together) - Erin will set up in the City Conference Room - Discuss how to determine the winning participants - Coordinators will call winners' names/phone numbers to congratulate them. The exercise will them be officially closed - Door prizes to be picked up at the city offices. Each will be tagged with the name of the winner. 2. Lane Smith: Volunteers that will help finish the filming of the RDAP video how can we help? 3. Terry Palmer report on J&J Zoom Presentation. We need to decide how to proceed. 4. Discuss the next Zoom Presentation: topic and date. 5. Bruce Hunt/Legacy District accepted the assignment to write the article on FRS/GMRS radio usage in an emergency for the May Syracuse Connection 6. Patrick Carroll/Bluff District has the assignment for the Syracuse Connection article for June. (Water Purification) 7. Discuss Resume and application of Jennifer Eagle as an additional member of the DPC at large 8. Discussion about future articles 1. Building a First Aid kits (Judy to contact Jeff-TNTFirstAid) 2. Water purification by charcoal and sand (Patrick) 3.
