Applicant Janessa Gardner did not attend the meeting. Per Tawnee Graywolf, Administrative Professional - Parks Division, Janessa sent an email after the meeting explaining that her HOA board members did not come to a unanimous agreement regarding the tree and would like to be added to the agenda of our next meeting.
2. Discussion and consideration of tree(s) removal on location at 787 N Dixie Dr, New Arby's Location - Vincent Perna, Project Manager
Applicant Kevin Hepner is requesting to remove 1 large Ash Tree on Dixie Dr, in front of the new Arby's location. According to Bill Ross from Quality Choice Construction, the new Arby's Monument sign will likely touch the branches of the Ash tree. Kevin explained that the new sign will be about 96' x 72' x 98'
Deputy Director of Parks, Shane Moore explained that before the Shade Tree and Beautification Board can make a decision, he recommends committee members go and look at the location of the tree. Request was made to expedite the approval or denial decision for Arby's.
3. Discussion and consideration of tree(s) removal on location at 1490 North Snow Canyon Pkwy - Dominion Energy
Applicant Jake Smith from Dominion Energy is requesting the removal of 11 trees along Snow Canyon Pkwy in preparation for a gas pipeline that will be placed 4 - 5 feet in the ground. Jake does not advocate the removal of the trees and is hoping to find a better solution to the issue. However, from previous experience, if the trees are not removed it will cause a large issue in the future.
Deputy Director of Parks, Shane Moore suggested that Parks Manager Ben Neumann go out to the location and inventory the trees. It was also suggested that shrubs be used to replace the trees in that location.
