Garfield County Library Board Meeting JUNE 24, 2020 AT 6:30 PM The Garfield County Board meeting we held by teleconference. Those who were in attendance were Suzanne Dunham, Verlaine Spencer, Ray Christen, Lyle Talbot, Kathy Petersen, Melanie Heaton and Tyrissa Howell. CALL TO ORDER Melanie Heaton called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Lyle Talbot moved, seconded Kathy Petersen by to approve the minutes. The motion passed with all in favor. LIBRARIAN REPORTS Suzanne Dunham During the months of March and May Panguitch Library's door were closed due to COVID -19. Patrons could call a request books to be delivered curbside. In May the library opened its doors for patrons. The library received $2045 from the CARES act to be spent on COVID-19 related items. Verlaine Spencer Summer reading has been held over Zoom and then posted to Facebook. Crafts and treats for each summer story time have been bagged and are ready for curbside pickup. Summer reading has had 59 kids sign up and 37 story time bags picked up. Lyle Talbot Garfield County will be receiving a newer book mobile tomorrow. The bookmobile sees fewer patrons due to COVID-19. There is voting link on Facebook asking if Garfield County should continue to have a bookmobile. Ray Christensen stated the Escalante Library is by appointment only. BOARD BUSINESS A board member has moved and needs to be replace. The board came up with some names that will be submitted to the county commissioners for approval. The Friends of the Library is club fund that raises money by selling used books and accepting donations. Currently the signers on the checks for the account is a past Board President, a past librarian and a past city recorder. The board talked about getting new signers on the account. The board also discussed connecting the account to some form of card payments. ADJOURNMENT Tyrissa Howell moved to adjourn at 7:15 PM.
