Racial Equity in Policing Commission & City Council Meeting Notice
Salt Lake City Utah
Listening Session Agenda
Thursday, January 28, 2021
6:00 pm
This meeting will be an electronic meeting pursuant to the Core Commission & Council Chair determination that conducting the meeting at a physical location presents a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present at the anchor location. The Listening Session will not have a physical location and all attendees will connect remotely.
The Racial Equity in Policing Commission will hold a live, televised listening community conversation with Mayor Erin Mendenhall, Police Chief Mike Brown, and members of the City Council. The session is designed to give the Commission a wide range of perspectives on policing in Salt Lake City.
Members of the audience can participate via phone, anonymous text message, or online using a dedicated social media hashtag. Answers will be posted and shared in real-time with viewers. The Commission will also conduct a random 'dial-out' to several thousand homes across the community to help encourage a broad cross-section of participation prior to the listening session.
To participate during the event, members of the public can:
Call (888) 410-3427 to participate in English
Call (844) 881-1317 to participate in Spanish
Text 'Equity' to 22333 and wait for prompts
Post on social media using the hashtag #slcrepcommission
Advance registration is also available at www.slcrepcommission.com but is not required for participation.
