Description/Agenda

The Utah Department of Transportation is holding an online public hearing to receive comments on changes and additions to fees the Department may charge under the authority of the Uniform Aeronautical Regulatory Act § 72-10-101-131, and the Financial Institutions Act §§ 7-15-1(4)(b), and 7-15-1(2)(b)(ii). The Department proposes assessing the following fees: 1) Fees to cover the transaction costs charged to the Department when patrons use credit or debit cards to pay fees owed to the state. 2) Service charge to cover non-sufficient funds collections. 3) Non-sufficient funds check service charge.

Notice of Special Accommodations (ADA)

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) during this meeting should notify Tessie Lords at the Utah Department of Transportation, 4501 S 2700 W, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-1265, or call (801) 965-4000, at least three (3) days before the hearing.

Notice of Electronic or Telephone Participation

The public hearing will only be accessible by electronic means through Google Meet at meet.google.com/nnm-edke-erd by telephone 1-413-623-4782 (PIN: 740291474). The Department will not provide space or facilities to attend the open portions of the meeting in-person. The executive director determined that conducting the hearing with an anchor location presents a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present at the anchor location due to the on-going state-of-emergency related to the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. A gathering of people at an anchor location will increase the risks of further spreading COVID-19.

The following options are available to submit comments to the Department for the January 22, 2021 meeting: Written Comments - Submit written comments via email to contactudot@utah.gov before the hearing or any time during the hearing. Comments will be presented to the executive director by a UDOT employee and included in the meeting minutes. Audio / Video File Comments - Submit audio or video file comments via email to contactudot@utah.gov 24 hours before the meeting. Audio and video file comments will be played into the hearing for consideration by the executive director. Live Comments - Anyone wanting to make a live comment during the meeting must contact Tessie Lords at the Utah Department of Transportation, 4501 S 2700 W, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-1265, or call (801) 965-4000 24 hours prior to the meeting for more information on how to connect to the meeting electronically. Public Comment Considerations: - Submitted comments must include the person's full name and who the person represents, if applicable. - The executive director will not hear an individual;s comments that are longer than five minutes. - The Department will summarize multiple comments addressing the same topic for presentation to the executive director, but attached to the meeting minutes in their entirety.
