- Moab, December 21, 2020: The Solid Waste Special Service District #1 will observe the following holidays in 2021. All District facilities will be closed on the dates indicated below. The District manages the operations of the Moab Landfill, Klondike Landfill, and Community Recycle Center. HOLIDAY DATE FACILITIES CLOSED DAY OF WEEK New Year's Day January 1 Friday Post New Year's Day January 2 Saturday Martin Luther King Day January 18 Monday President's Day February 15 Monday Memorial Day May 31 Monday Independence Day (observed) July 5 Monday Pioneer Day (observed) July 23 Friday Pioneer Day July 24 Saturday Labor Day September 6 Monday Indigenous Peoples' Day October 11 Monday Veteran's Day November 11 Thursday Thanksgiving Day November 25 Thursday Christmas Day (observed) December 24 Friday Christmas Day December 25 Saturday New Year's Day (observed) December 31 Friday New Year's Day January 1, 2022 Saturday *Please note that all facilities will close at 1pm on Christmas and New Year's Eve (December 24 and December 31, 2020), and will be closed on Friday, December 25 through Sunday, December 27, 2020.
