Planning Commission October 8, 2020 Planning Commission Present: Deb Bayles Kellen Nielson Len Gasser Robert Ogle Ted Black City Planner Present: Bret Hosler City Council Representative Present: Logan Shumway Minutes: Mikaela Ramsay Item #1 - Robert welcomed everyone at 6:58 pm. He asked if everyone had a chance to read over the September 3rd minutes and this evening's agenda. Deb made a motion to accept the agenda and minutes, Kellen seconded the motion and it carried. Item #2 - Robert thanked Deb for all her work in the Planning Commission. There was a discussion about a replacement for Deb. They discussed what characteristics might make a good candidate. Deb suggested that anyone who had ideas text those ideas to Bret in the next couple months. Logan suggested that people with some building experience be considered. Item #3 - At Robert's request, Bret talked about Conditional Uses in our different land use zones. There was a general discussion that followed. There are conditional uses or allowable exceptions to the normal situation outlined for each zone. The required steps to qualify are outlined. There are some levels of appeal open for decisions made by the land use authority. Item #4 - Robert asked everyone if they had any input on next year's schedule. There was some discussion if there was interest in guest instruction or training. Logan would like a list of objectives and goals. Robert and Bret talked about meeting and coming up with some plans and goals. Bret explained that the Planning Commission meets as the land use authority for some activities and is designed to be a workhorse for the City Council for research, planning and coming up with ways to improve things. Item #5 - Robert reminded everyone to text their ideas for replacement Planning Commission members to Bret as they thought of them. There were no Planning Commission Reports. Ted made a motion to adjourn. Len seconded the motion and the meeting ended at 7:34 pm.
