Amalga Planning and Zoning Meeting November 4, 2020 7:00 PM Visitors: Kent and Rachel Peterson, Rulon Carlisle, Dave Wood, Mayor Members: Lance Gates, Chairman. Carl Sims, Jason Munk, Kelly Noble, Brian Larsen, Commission Members. Howard Kunz, Town Board. Dave Lee, Secretary. Michelle Gittins, Town Treasurer. 1. Minutes of October 7, 2020 read by Jason Munk. Motion to approve: Brian Larsen Second: Carl Sims Motion Carried 2. Request by Rulon Carlisle for Zoning Clearance for a pole barn at 6118N 2400 W. No water or power at this time. 100' X 35'. Clearances meet code. Motion to approve: Carl Sims Second: Jason Munk Motion Carried 3. Discussion with Peterson Excavating about use of property behind home. Solutions proposed by the Petersons. Acknowledge the Petersons ENTIRE property to be recognized as in Mixed Use Zone. Add following suggested verbiage to both Mixed Use and Agricultural Zones, 'Any earthy product including but not limited to: topsoil, gravel, landscaping debris, manure, hay, grain, corn, etc. Update Amalga General Plan (1996). Plan is 24 years old. Hold Houghtons accountable for their choice to knowingly and willingly move into a Mixed Use Zone, next to an Excavation Company. It they want a fence, it is their financial responsibility. Petersons will submit a Petition for Zone Change or Code Amendment.
