DIVISION OF WATER QUALITY UTAH DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY PUBLIC NOTICE OF RENEWAL OF A UPDES PERMIT PURPOSE OF PUBLIC NOTICE The purpose of this public notice is to declare the State of Utah's intention to reissue a Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (UPDES) permit under authority of the Utah Water Quality Act, Section 19-5-104 and 107, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended. Said 'permit' refers to UPDES permit and statement of basis (including the Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL's)) if applicable, as per Section 303 (d) of the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA). PERMIT INFORMATION PERMITTEE NAME: Flowserve, Inc. MAILING ADDRESS: 1350 North Mountain Springs Parkway Springville, Utah 84663 TELEPHONE NUMBER: 801.489.2452 FACILITY LOCATION: 1350 North Mountain Springs Parkway Springville, Utah 84663 UPDES PERMIT NO.: UT0024422 PERMITTED OUTFALLS 001 RECEIVING WATER: Spring Creek BACKGROUND Flowserve, Inc. (Flowserve) engineers, manufactures, and tests control valves and components. Its Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3491, Industrial Valves. Three wastewater streams are produced on site: 1) sanitary waste, 2) metal finishing wastewater (including anodizing and phosphating wastewater), and 3) valve testing water. Sanitary and metal finishing wastewaters are discharged to the Springville City Wastewater Treatment Plant (SCWWTP). Valve test water is discharged to a reflecting pond northwest of the facility and ultimately to Spring Creek. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public comments are invited any time prior to the deadline of the close of business on November 27, 2020. After considering public comment, the Division of Water Quality may reissue, revise, or abandon it.
