Amalga Planning and Zoning Meeting October 7, 2020 7:00 PM Visitors: Dave Wood, Mayor, Colin Sorenson, David Jenson, April Turner Members: Lance Gates, Chairman. Brian Larsen, Carl Sims,, Kelly Noble, Jason Munk, Commission Members. Howard Kunz, Town Board. Dave Lee, Secretary. 1. Minutes of September 2, 2020, read by Brian Larsen. Motion to Approve-Brian Larsen Second-Kelly Noble Motion Carried 2. Request for Zoning Clearance by Howard Kunz for a storage shed, 12'X16', at 5655 N 3100 W, to be located behind shop. The shed will be 100' from street and 6' from property line. There is a conflict with the Code, reference 2.2 and 7.2.8. Under definitions 2.2, accessory building need only be 1 foot from property line. In 7.2.8, yard Requirements-Accessory Buildings, accessory buildings need to be 6 feet from property line. This will be addressed in a later meeting. Motion to Approve-Carl Sims Second-Kelly Noble Motion Carried 3. Request for Zoning Clearance by Colin Sorenson to build a home at 3200 W 5400 N. Clearances, 80' to property line West, 84' to neighbors East, and 65' to center of road N. Motion to Approve-Brian Larsen Second-Kelly Noble Motion Carried 4. Request for Zoning Clearance by David Jenson for a shed at 7310 N 2400 W. Shed to be 30'X50' with two lean to's. Total area 50'X60'. To be located behind home, 15' from rear property line. Motion to Approve-Carl Sims Second-Kelly Noble Motion Carried 5. Request from April Turner for a Home Occupation Permit at 2260 W 6200 N. It was determined based upon Amalga Code 3.11.1a, that no Home Occupation Permit is required for Agricultural Activities. 6. Motion to Close Planning and Zoning Meeting-Carl Sims Second-Kelly Noble Motion Carried 7. Motion to open an Executive Session-Jason Munk Second-Brian Larsen Motion Carried 8. Executive Session to discuss Houghton-Peterson situation. Based upon visit with Seth Tait, Town Attorney, a motion was made by Brain Larsen to have Dave Wood, Mayor, and Howard Kunz, Planning and Zoning Town Board Representative visit with Kent Peterson and explain current options. Solution needs to be found or Business License cannot be renewed according to current Zoning Code. Second-Jason Munk Motion Carried 9. Motion to Reopen Planning and Zoning Meeting-Jason Munk Second-Brian Larsen Motion Carried 10. Motion made by Carl Sims to have Dave Wood, Mayor, and Howard Kunz, Planning and Zoning Town Board Representative visit with Kent Peterson and explain current options. Solution needs to be found or Business License cannot be renewed according to current Zoning Code. Second-Jason Munk Motion Carried 11.
