Pleasant Grove Historic Preservation Commission Agenda Meeting Place: Old Town Hall building (107 South 100 East) Meeting Date and Time: Thursday, September 24, 7 PM Business Excused: Linda Walker Review and/or approve minutes: Motion by: Agenda Items 1. Conduct subcommittee reports: Preservation - SHPO sent a check for the 2019 Old Town Hall grant. Applications for the 2021 grant open in January and are awarded in April 2021. - Any concerns about the Old Town Hall restoration list? Laurel will submit it to Deon when all agree. - Preservation subcommittee: Do you want to brainstorm other, smaller ideas for preservation efforts (i.e., the Main Street clock or outdoor cleanup)? Report back next month. Digitization & Archives Our next archive inventory session is Wednesday, October 7 (4:30 PM) and Thursday, October 8 (10 AM). History & Publications The Rose Garden Walking Tour book is available at City Hall (copies for Commission members available tonight). Laurel gave copies to city council and mayor. Laurel would like to write a third walking tour book and create a series. Community Outreach All community outreach events are postponed to at least Spring 2021. 2. Of the projects/events we brainstormed last month to do safely during COVID-19, who would like to spearhead each? - Live Facebook event (or recorded to post on Facebook) of a home tour - Cemetery projects - Personal history interviews - Others? 3. Gaylen Palmer and his family would like to restore the plaque on the Winter Corral (text is faded). Cost: around $1,200. His family will collect funds, but they might come to us to help raise the rest, if needed. 4. As of January 1, city council has not approved the revisions to our bylaws. Brent, can we get an update? Next meeting: Thursday, October 15 at 7 PM
