Holladay Tree Committee Agenda Thursday, September 3, 2020 @ 4:00PM Knudsen Park Pavilion - Wear a Mask! I. Introductions/Attendees: (*Officio Committee Member) II. Review Actions/Assignments and Activity from Prior Month: - COVID19 Holladay City Update - Be Safe, Stay Healthy & Wear a Mask - Travis - get buffs, shirts, banners ordered -cheap buffs not a viable option, but mask and banners and other items to be ordered for volunteers and team leads during event. - Give Away Committee - designate lead and captains for event - Selena & Travis - Travis/Dennis - order trees for event - Order placed 8/28 waiting final cost with delivery - Jeremiah - create 'proper tree planting' video to share at event as link - ? Selena can help film if needed and will meet on site - need ASAP to have link before event - Matt - mention at council meeting need to hire arborist. Also ask if committee members feedback/advice wanted for parking lot tree related projects like resurfacing/paving at ACE Hardware - On City Council Work Session Agenda for 9/3 Dennis & other members - Wendy - Report on Art Council involvement at 2021 Arbor Day Event - Wendy - SLC Reimagine Nature Master Plan update - Tree Give Away Subcommittee - holladaycitytrees.com o Budget, Fundraising & Donations - Update o Tree Order - 8/28 o Buffs/Masks, Shirts, Logistics & Supplies - Ongoing o Committee members committed to volunteer/assignments? o Site Plan - One way traffic with check-in and timed pick up groups Overnight to secure all parking and ribbon/cone off space for event III. Upcoming Events: - Tree Give Away - Saturday September 26, 2020, 9:00AM - 11:00PM @ City Hall - Arbor Day 2020 at Olympus Junior High - Postponed to 04-30-2021 - Stratton Park Clean Up 2020 or Community Service Project - TBD IV. Assignments: - V. Miscellaneous / Additional Items: VI. Topics Voted / Approved: VII. Ongoing Projects that need continued volunteer help: - Social Media relations - Facebook & Email management - Voucher program volunteers - verification/documentation/issuance VIII. 2020 GOALS: - 450 trees procured and given away at September event - Annual Arbor Day event - City managed Heritage Tree program - Ongoing Park clean-up projects (Stratton, Butternut, Knudsen) - Voucher program 50-100 new street trees - Hire seasonal Arborist to inventory & start pruning City Trees (Plaza!) - Rebranding of HTC Logo for 2021 - possible student project IX.
