July 9, 2020 The regular meeting of the Cleveland Town council was held at the public safety building located at 130 W Main in Cleveland, Utah, on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 7:00 pm. Those in attendance were Mayor Michael Taylor and council members Kallon Cowley, Kristen Vose and Trevor Rowley. Brydi Sharp was absent. Trevor made a motion to approve the minutes from last month's meeting. Kallon seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion carried. The meeting was opened to public comment. No public comment. Item #1 Beth Patrick (Mrs. Beth's Busy Bee's Preschool) Sign rental agreement form Beth will be taking over Karen Griffin's preschool at the Old Town Hall. Beth asked Town Council if she could move her classroom to the adjacent room where exercise equipment is being stored. She stated that the current classroom is very small and the adjacent room has two windows with direct access outside. Beth assured the council that she will have assistance in cleaning out the room and getting it ready. Mike agreed to let Beth move her classroom into the adjacent room. No motions were made. Mike Taylor and Beth Patrick signed the Cleveland Town Hall Rental Agreement. Item #2 Boyd Griffin (water connection fee) Boyd asked council for Cleveland Town to pay the water connection fee. Boyd allowed Cleveland Town to put it's welcome sign on his land as you enter Cleveland. The agreement was that Cleveland Town would pay for the water on that property. Boyd asked council to uphold on the agreement made years ago. Mike stated that Cleveland Town will uphold to the agreement that was made years ago, but will have something written up for Boyd and Cleveland Town to sign. No motions were made. Item #3 Darcey Powell lease renewal Darcey was not present. Darcey made arrangements to have her lease renewed. Kallon made a motion to renew the lease for Forbidden Fruit through June 30, 2021. Kristen seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion carried. Item #4 Review bills and approve for payment Trevor made a motion to approve the bills for payment. Kallon seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken. Kallon voted yes. Kristen voted yes. Trevor voted yes. All were in favor. Motion carried. Item #5 Council reports No report from Trevor. No report from Kristen. No report from Kallon. Mike stated that he hasn't heard from the State about getting a sign. The Ad for Sidewalk Bids was published in the paper and a showing will take place Friday, July 10 at 9:00. Mike stated that he is not ready to make a decision on Fire Chief yet. He would still like accept letters from other Fire Fighters. Mike gave the Fire Department the approval to choose Assistant Fire Chief and Training Officer. Item #9 Adjourn meeting Kallon made a motion to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Kristen.
